Temporary houses for rescued hostages

Temporary houses are being provided to all Tamil civilians who have been liberated from the tiger terrorists in the North..

More than 50,000 had been sheltered in the welfare camps in Settikulam during the past five days. The remaining civilians are due to be directed to temporary houses by tomorrow. These details were revealed at a discussion at Zone Three in Menik Farm. Kandy District Secretary Gothabaya Jayaratna said they managed to settle a large group today. The total number already sheltered in Menik Farm exceeds 100,000. Temporary tents and semi-stable houses have been put up.
