Who are four new ministers in Western Provincial Council?

May 02, Colombo: Four ministerial portfolios in the Western Provincial Council are to be given to three newcomers and one former councilor, government sources said.

Udaya Gammanpila, Nimal Lanza and Ranjith Somawansha are the three newcomers and Sunil Jayamini is the former councilor who are considered to be appointed as ministers in the newly elected WPC.

Udaya Gammanpila was the third highest preferential votes taker in Colombo District and Nimal Lanza, former Mayor of Negombo has managed to secure the second place in Gampaha preferential votes list.

Ranjith Somawansha, contested for the WPC polls in Kalutara district, was the fourth highest preferential votes taker in the ruling party.

Meanwhile, the new Chief Minister of the Western Province, Prasanna Ranatunga and the four new ministers are to take oaths before President Mahinda Rajapaksa on next Monday at the Temple Tress.
