Many investors entering Stock Market: Capital market needs more professionals

More professionals will be needed in the capital market as many investors enter the stock market during the peak time of the CSE. More investment advisors are needed as the market has shown a positive growth, Colombo Stock Brokers’ Association, Chairman, Sriyan Gurusinghe told Daily News Business.
At present there are over 200 licensed investment advisors in the CSE and to continue the upward momentum of the market, we will definitely need more investment advisors, he said.

“We would need new education programs continuously to uplift the quality and the standards of these market professionals.

The standards of market professionals are improving daily and with more investors entering the market we need qualified manpower to cater to the demand, he said.

Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka (SEC), Financial Services Academy (FSA), Director Dr. Dissa Bandara said. “We have five professional programs to support the capital market under the FSA.
