Mahinda will not cow down to int'l pressure and stop the fight against terrorism

President Rajapaksa said that he would not stop his current program of eradicating terrorism from the country despite however much international pressure is applied on his government to stop it.

“As long as the people want us to eradicate terrorism there is no reason why we should bow our heads to powers outside the people,” the President said addressing the governing Sri Lanka Freedom Party branch representatives of the Kalutara District.

The President said despite pressures as long as the people are with the government the eradication of terrorism from the country would continue to the end without any break.

The President said, the government is not ready to cow down to anybody high and mighty and therefore would not stop the fight against terrorism in the country. The government will bow down only to the public opinion, he said.
